The WTF Night of Hilarity and Awe will also feature the return of David Merry; one of Canada’s premier magicians, Men in Tights; the kings of Shakespearian improvisation and comedian Sean Cullen. Laughter, magic, dance and song… this show has it all and you don’t want to miss it.
An actor / writer / improviser / producer/director Naomi was a regular for 8 seasons on CBC’s hit comedy, ‘Mr. D’ (two time ACTRA nominated, four time CSA nominated and Canadian Comedy Award winner). She is an alumnus of ‘The Second City Toronto’ where she wrote and performed in five hit shows. Her TV and film credits include Designated Survivor, I Martin Short Go Home, ‘Drunk and On Drugs Happy Fun Time Hour’ (co-starring the cast of ‘Trailer Park Boys’), ‘The Listener’, ‘Degrassi’, ‘Being Erica’, ‘Wingin’ It’, and ‘Dino Dan’. She is the voice of ‘Aunt Turtle’ on the cartoon ‘Franklin the Turtle’ and ‘June’ on Monsters. She co-created the digital show ‘Doing it With Brian and Darla’ for CBC Comedy and ‘The Casting Room’ Web Series (LA WebFest and CCA winner). Naomi has also won a Canadian Comedy Award in the category of Best Female Improviser.
Matt is an actor, writer, and director. He’s an alumnus of the legendary Second City Comedy Theatre in Toronto where he wrote and performed in six hit revues, collecting three Canadian Comedy Awards for Best Sketch Troupe and three Dora Mavor Moore Award nominations for Best Musical. Film credits include; Suicide Squad, Len and Company, Twelve Trees of Christmas, and Bruno and Boots: The Wizzle Wars. Young audiences may recognize Matt as Mr. Dolby on Family Channel’s Wingin’ It and Mellwood Stark on Nickelodeon/YTV’s Make It Pop. Matt was a series regular on SEED (CityTV and CW) and was a lead on Punched Up, (The Comedy Network) and CBC’s The Next Comedy Legend. Other TV credits include appearances on ABC’s For The People, Henry Danger (Nickelodeon), Shoot The Messenger (CBC) Haven (SyFy), The Stanley Dynamic (Disney), Reign (CW), Saving Hope (CTV and NBC), The Listener (Global), Covert Affairs (USA), Living in Your Car (Showcase), Murdoch Mysteries (Bravo), The Border (CBC), Taken (NBC), and Black Mirror (BBC). Matt also won a Canadian Comedy Award in the category of Best Male Improvisor in 2012. Matt is currently Wes Holm on the CTV series, Carter and he tours with The Second City Guide to The Symphony to cities across North America.
Men in Tights
Men in Tights are an audience participation show where two goofy Renaissance characters perform unique versions of the classics. From Shakespeare to Mother Goose, this fun-loving duo presents a half-hour show of fractured fairy tales with you as the star of the show. Script and improv combine with hilarious results.
David Merry has been Canada’s premiere comic magician and has travelled the globe making people laugh for the last thirty years. He has a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Comedy Magic Seminar, is a past recipient of Canada’s “Club Comic of The Year” award and has been nominated at the Canadian Comedy Awards for “Best One Man Show” and “Best Variety Act.” David was so great in 2018 we decided he should come back for a WTF encore crowd pleasing performance again this year. You don’t want to miss this!
Martha Chaves is a veteran of multiple Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, and of all the other major comedy festivals in Canada, like the Winnipeg, Halifax, Edmonton, and Vancouver Comedy Festivals. Martha’s infectious, candid style, and her natural ability to relate to any audience has made her a very popular headliner comedian at clubs, colleges, festivals, fundraisers, and corporate functions. Her versatility has granted her to do shows all over the world and to entertain a wide range of audiences. For example, she performed for the Canadian troops in Alert, Egypt, Israel, and Afghanistan and also for a delegation of women, led by Nobel Peace Prize recipients, in Mexico and Central America. In 2015, she performed at the opening ceremonies of the Toronto Pan Am Games, at the Rogers Centre in front of 45.000 people and in 2016 she hosted the ACTRA awards. Her Stand-Up TV credits include her two national comedy specials: COMICS! On the CBC, and There’s Something about Martha on CTV and The COMEDY NETWORK; plus her multiple TV appearances in Montreal’s Just For Laughs Festival and many others.
Expect the unexpected with Seán Cullen, a nimble master of improvisation and accomplished impressionist who delights in the absurd. For two-and-a-half decades, Cullen has dominated the Canadian comedy scene as an award-winning comedian, actor, author and screenwriter.

Sean Cullen is regularly broadcast on TVs across the globe. In live action, Sean is a series regular and star panelist on Match Game (The Comedy Network), and has guest starred or appeared in Spun Out (CTV), Murdoch Mysteries, What Would Sal Do (Super Channel), The Stanley Dynamic, Odd Squad (TVO Kids), and was featured on the Just For Laughs: All Access (The Comedy Network), The Halifax Comedy Festival (CBC), and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival ( CBC) television specials.
In animation, Sean’s leant his voice and contributed stories to the children’s animated series Rocket Monkeys as Gus (Teletoon) and to Almost Naked Animals playing Narwhal and Piggy (YTV/Cartoon Network/CITV UK) – the series was selected as one of People Magazine’s top children’s shows and earned him a Gemini-nomination for Best Writing in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series. Sean also regularly voices Shelbourne, Tim, and Old Rick in Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Inspector Gadget (Teletoon), Knuckleheads (CBC/Teletoon), and Winston Steinburger (Teletoon), among others.
He is also a regular on The Debaters (CBC Radio) for which he earned two Canadian Comedy Award-nominations. In Fall 2012 he played Orson Welles in The Art of Time Ensemble’s critically acclaimed live theatrical production War of the Worlds.
Cullen has frequently appeared on television making multiple appearances on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (NBC) and The Late Late Show (CBS). He was a finalist in the sixth season of Last Comic Standing (NBC) and a regular on The Ellen Degeneres Show (CBS).
Described in Time Magazine as “the vanguard of comedy’s next generation”, Cullen has earned three Gemini Awards, three Canadian Comedy Awards, an ACTRA Award, a Rocky Mountain Book Award, an Arthur Ellis Book Award and was twice nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award.
